If so, then you may be a great fit for the Head of Product Management, Tax Credits position.

Tax Credits is a brand new team to Gusto, and is tasked with creating a magical experience that helps as many Gustomers as possible to take advantage of available tax credits in a scalable, approachable and opinionated way. Our goal is to empower and delight by:

  • Providing magical just-in-time moments that introduce potential tax credits to the right people at the right time
  • Creating a system of self-serve that lets Employers explore their tax credits potential and that helps navigate the complex process of gathering all the data and to deliver the right studies
  • Delivering a simplified and streamlined tax credit discovery journey, and the user experience to support it

Due to the horizontal nature of this team, you will work cross-functionally to ensure your solutions solve the problems of our varied customer base, as well as address needs of our many product teams and key business goals. This team has strong executive support, and exciting plans to grow in size and scope.


Heres what youll do day-to-day:
  • Develop a deep understanding of the different customers we serve, and a how their varying needs translate into product requirements
  • Partner with engineering, design, and data science within your quartet and across cross-functional teams to ship solutions that delight customers
  • Identify emerging technologies and industry trends, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy
  • Understand customer pain points, come up with solutions, and then prototype, iterate and launch frequently
  • Use data and experiments to make decisions that improve the customer experience and business metrics
  • Create a tax credit strategy that simplifies the in-app experience for when and how we message customers and lead them through this complex journey all the way to enjoying their tax credits
  • Make our Customers, both Employers and Employees, happy

Heres what were looking for:
  • 6+ years of product management or software development experience including
    • Experience empowering and growing world class Product teams
    • GM experience or responsible of your own P&L is a plus
  • Track record of delivering personalized, modular and adaptive products that guide the customer through a simple and intuitive user experience
    • Strong technical understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence
    • Deep understanding of personalization and modularization of the product experience
  • Experience driving high growth of product from launch phase to scaled adoption including
    • Strong product discovery and research skills
    • Ability to set a strategy and translate to a roadmap with end-to-end execution
    • Proven track record of building products customers love and taking them from launch to scale
  • Creating and growing diverse and passionate product teams
  • Zest for learning and first principles thinking
  • Execution oriented and highly organized
  • Empathy and kindness for the teams you work with and the customers we serve

Our cash compensation range for this role is $182,000/yr to $247,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $214,000/yr to $290,000/yr in San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
