Overview

We are seeking an exceptional and strategic sales leader to join our team as the Director of Sales at Customer.io, overseeing the EMEA/APAC markets. As the Director of Sales, EMEA/APAC, you will be responsible for managing and building a high-performing team of account executives in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) sales regions. Your primary objective will be to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base in these key markets. The Director of Sales will report to the VP of Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of account executives, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their individual and team targets.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the EMEA and APAC regions, aligning it with the companys overall sales objectives.
  • Drive the sales cycle from prospecting and qualifying leads to closing deals, ensuring a consistent and efficient sales process.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives, within target accounts to understand their business needs and position Customer.io as a strategic partner.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, customer success, and product teams to align sales efforts with overall company goals and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and strategies for growth.
  • Leverage the product-led growth and self-service model to complement the sales-led side of the business, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach.
  • Analyze sales performance data and provide regular reports to executive management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Continuously assess and improve sales processes, tools, and systems to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Create and nurture a feedback loop with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing.
  • Alongside the VP of Sales & leadership team, they will help to craft and execute the overall sales strategy for Customer.ios offerings, from initial lead through the entire customer lifecycle to maximize revenue.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and campaigns that drive customer acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities and partnerships to expand Customer.ios reach and market presence.
  • Drive a culture of customer success within the sales team, ensuring a customer-centric approach and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Provide sales leadership and support for large, strategic deals, working closely with the account executives to develop and execute winning sales strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry influencers, partners, and thought leaders to enhance Customer.ios brand reputation and generate referrals.
  • Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements to showcase Customer.ios expertise and thought leadership, on an as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with the product team to provide customer feedback and insights for product enhancements and new feature development.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • High-Growth B2B software sales leadership executive with Director, Regional VP, or VP tenure at a successful SaaS company.
  • Strong understanding of the EMEA and APAC markets, with a network of contacts in key industries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate at all levels of an organization.
  • A demonstrated track record of success selling into the Marketing vertical.
  • Track record of building world-class sales organizations with the consistent ability to win deals.
  • Strategic mindset and a results-oriented approach, with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to make informed decisions and drive sales performance.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a high level of initiative and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Today over 5,300 internet businesses use Customer.io to manage, send, and track the performance of emails, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messages. Unlike typical marketing platforms, Customer.io helps businesses increase relevance by using behavioral data: what people do or dont do when logged in to a web or mobile app.

We are offering on-target earnings (OTE) starting at $260,000 USD (or equivalent in local currency), dependent on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
