The magic that makes this work are the automated, personalized digital conversations (chats) that are designed to maximize engagement, collect valuable patient-generated health data (PGHD), analyze that data, and use it to drive positive behaviors/actions.nnBrief Overview:nnSoftware engineers at Amwell aim for developing great products and ensuring that modern software development frameworks and methods are applied pragmatically to optimal benefit. Some assumed traits of the candidate for this position:nnn* You are well into your software engineering career (7+ years experience) and enjoy working on larger, distributed software solutions and collaborating across teams on solutions.nn* Your experience and knowledge is applied daily to both hands-on technical implementation, but you also guide and influence engineering teams to improve productivity and delivery of quality softwarenn* You regularly coordinate with extended delivery partners (DevOps, infrastructure, security, etc.), and work to align shared goals into the technical platformnn* You take pride in the product features delivered by your team and enjoy defining technical approaches to solve new challenges for those featuresnnnnnCore Responsibilities:nnn* Working with other Technical platform leads to coordinate on large scale technical solutionsnn* Hands-on software development on the core platform. with participation in engineering strategy initiatives (design of new features, collaborating on tool/process investigation, etc.)nn* Mentoring and supporting engineers to improve their familiarity with the technical platform and feature developmentnn* Ensures non-functional improvements to features (security, scale, repeatability, supportability, etc.) are constantly understood and incorporated into worknn* Working with engineering peers to collaborate on capability and performance enhancementsnn* Triage, intake, and coordination of support requests into your team with internal/external stakeholdersnn* Production and preproduction troubleshooting and resolution for support incidentsnnnnnQualifications:nnn* Solid experience (7+ years) with core JavaScript/Typescript, or analogous languages.nn* 2+ years working as team lead, with a track record of mentoring engineers through all aspects of the SDLC (ideation design implementation validation post-production analysis/support)nn* Experience in infrastructure as code (IaC) patterns and deploy/management frameworks (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.)nn* Experience and knowledge of developing on cloud platforms and the various managed services used in support of development and supportnn* Experience and knowledge of continuous integration/continuous delivery patterns, practices, and frameworks.nn* Strong working knowledge of SCM systems and patterns for code management and distributed team developmentnn* Proven experience with best practices in software development as a team sport, incorporating source management, code reviews, shared coding/style conventions (ex: linters), and dependency managementnn* Experience with containerized software development patterns (ex: Docker) and associated Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) patterns and frameworksnn* Experience with APIs, Data contracts/schemas is preferred but not requirednn* Experience with various data persistence models is preferred but not requirednn* Experience with content management patterns (partial templates, versioning, etc.) is preferred but not requirednnnnnAdditional informationnnWorking at Amwell:nnAmwell is changing how care is delivered through online and mobile technology.
